EAP Support Line – Telephone Counsellor
Location: Fully Remote (Confidential workspace required), with occasional travel to Birmingham and London
Hours: 31.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: 4 days/shifts Monday–Friday between 8am–8.30pm, plus 1 in 4 Saturdays
Salary:
- £29,500 (Pro Rata): Under 250 post-qualification clinical hours
- £30,500 (Pro Rata): 250+ post-qualification clinical hours

We are now looking for a dedicated BACP or UKCP registered Counsellor to join our experienced team of Telephone Counsellors on our Support Line. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a service that makes a meaningful difference every single day.
What You’ll Be Doing
As an EAP Support Line Telephone Counsellor, you will:
- Provide emotional and psychological support to employees across our client organisations
- Respond to inbound and outbound calls, understand presenting needs, and identify appropriate next steps
- Refer individuals to counselling and specialist services, including legal, financial, and practical support
- Deliver structured in‑house counselling sessions, ranging from Solution‑Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to more complex interventions such as EMDR or CBT, depending on your clinical competencies
- Ensure accurate and timely updates to client records following each contact
- Signpost to additional resources and appropriate support networks
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- A recognised counselling qualification
- Current BACP or UKCP registration
- Experience working with a wide range of clients from diverse backgrounds
Desirable:
- 250+ post‑qualification clinical hours
- Previous experience in an EAP or telephone counselling environment
